I often pass this row of news boxes and wish someone would sit on one of the benches and read a paper so I could get a shot. On Saturday I was delighted to see my wish had finally come true. C&C welcome and desired! Thanks.

You have a nice concept there with the bank of newspaper boxes leading to the the reader. These boxes make such wonderful subjects here too in the city. What conversion method did you use? It seems to be a tad lacking in contrast and detail.

Nice idea and glad it finally worked out for you. I agree with BB on the B&W. We need a bit more contrast and I would say a tad of careful sharpening.

Thanks for commenting, BB & condyk. For the B&W conversion I used Monochrome in Canon's DPP, which is new to me. Next time I'll try more contrast and sharpening. Gotta admit, I always forget to think about sharpening. Also gotta admit that my PP skills are almost nonexistant.

Barbara, do you have Photoshop? Elements or CS?

BB, I have PS Elements 2.0 that came with my 300D. I also have RawShooterEssentials, but can't use it yet with my 30D. I almost always shoot in Raw, but have been considering trying the Monochrome Picture Style on the 30D.
