Red Bull hosted a karting event today in Cardiff (to be broadcast by ITV before the British Grand Prix).

A lot of F1 drivers and celebrities took part in over six hours of karting action. Lot's of accidents too!

Here's a small samples of photos that I took. MORE PHOTOS AT http://www.samiad.co.uk/gallery (external link) AND http://www.flickr.com/photos/samiad/ (external link) !!

Um, I don't know - it was a "non-professional" who went through the heats and won the final race.

Myleene crashed, hurt her ankle and was sent to hospital - I'm sure she's fine though!

In Crash, which group is going the right way? It looks like 4, 12, and 6 got out voted as to track direction
Great series. Those little beasties can be quick and tough to track.

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.

Yes, the other karts decided to race in reverse gear as a handicap!

Great pictures there :) Sorry to invade the forum but I found them through Google ;) I was in kart 8 and ended up 4th in the final.

Not surprisingly the 'crash' red flagged the race on the first lap! Some twit wouldn't yield in the chicane and went two abreast into it: Karts and barriers everywhere and bang into everyone else I went. LOL Had a bent rear axle after that which meant it felt like I had square wheels at the back.

The guy that won is an ex pro and won the British Championships in 2003 apparently. He also is the South East dealer for Intrepid karts and runs a karting team! It was fairly inevitable he would win against the rest of us who were all amateurs. I've done about 20 kart races in my life!

Here's some pictures that include you :)

I wouldn't normally post these, but seeing as you asked I'll post them. Some are blurry and a bit dodgy.

Awesome. Thanks for those :) The last couple are obviously after I caught the barriers on the practice. They had a really bad habbit of sucking you in and you can see that it bent my steering! LOL
