OK people I am getting a little agrivated with the lack of responses from this forum lately!
Is there something terrably wrong with this photo? I try to make comments on a wide variety of shots out there even if they are short. I will even go through and and look at the
different catagories and look for "0" posts to start the ball rolling.
sorry just a little agrivated :(

:) Sorry, but I have been in bed the past 8 hours. Uk timing. :)

For such a close up it's very good how you got the whole flower in focus and background blurred. The flower stands out giving off it's glorious colour.

An excellent shot well done.

hi Dan although i have been lurking this site for quite some time i have been a little forum shy.

i love the picture of the tulip. i like how the background is blurred red. Matches the yellow very well.

How do you like your 30D? Im thinking about getting a 30D for my GF who has been stealing photo time from me! Please continue to show us your pictures!

Dan -- I like it a lot. Quite different from the "perfect" tulip shot. Lots of character and great color.

Remember that not all categories are interesting to everybody.

I usually don't comment on flower photos but this one is nice :) As already pointed out the background match nicely with the tulip.

ohh btw I edited the thread title.

Nice shot Daniel. The Tulips have started blooming in our front yard also. Most if not all of them are purple. I snapped a few last week as well.

Hi Dan, It is a beautiful shot! I have the same tulips in my front garden and yes, they are tulips. I even have some ruffled looking pink and white tulips. That red must be mulch? I don't have a lens capable of taking a good close up shot of one yet. What lens did you use for this?

I agree with others. The flower really stands out from its bg. Sharp image and nice control of the DoF. Good job Dan.

Nicely done - exposure is right on and the DoF is good. I like it.

I was out shooting a lot of tulips this past weekend as well...
