Just got off a 747 Stuttgart to LA via Frankfurt. Long day - up over 24 hours now, with 20 of that being in an airport or a plane.

None the less, got some shots in Germany. So far not too many (a dozen perhaps, out of 5,000) that really sing, but quite a lot of decent journeyman quality shots. The next couple of weeks will tell the tale in the post processing department.

But, to begin with, "Slippery When Wet". During the drive from Dresden back to Stuttgart I was complaining that "I wanna take some pictures!" The weather was crappy, it was raining, it was dark, the light was featureless, etc, etc. Finally Marcia said, "Then take your damn pictures and shut up!" Boy, am I glad she did say that!

I'm not feelin it. You didnt need ISO1600 here IMO, the grain distracts from the image.

I love the grain. Adds to the rainy feeling and motion.

You took what was basically a very dull subject and made it interesting, well done. The grain adds atmosphere to the shot.

Actually I had to put the grain in during post processing. It was a desired effect, which is why I chose the particular technique that I did (1/25, 1600 asa, f32) - I was looking for both grain and motion blur at the time that I took the shot. Here is the unprocessed shot OOC, complete with dust. As you can see, the three things that I did in post processing was first, layering for contrast and density, grain, and motion blur.

Just one more proof that "for every buyer there is a seller"

I like it Rad, thanks for the mini tutorial as well. Perfect crop for the shot as well.

I like your processing...lots of tension in the photo. Nice work!

In my oppinion, the grain actually does add character to the picture, whats a little bit destructing to me is the green color of the grass on the right. The yellow street line is what is leading the viewer into the picture so it should be more dominant than the grass.
What i would have made is desaturate the grass a bit, to thake off the attention and make the street line more saturated and contrasty.
Here is an example of what i mean:
