I mistakenly posted some other photos from this series on the Nature thread. Here is a Brandt's Cormorant Nesting in Monterey taking a break from egg sitting.

Very nice shot Mike, The blue gular pouch shows up nicely here. however, the white from the guano has overwhelmed the image somewhat. That is a difficult shot, with the black birds contrasted against the white covered rocks. The composition would have been better if you could have cropped the two birds on the right as the main center of focus, instead of the one bird where the head and neck merge into the body.

Nice shot. It's a challenging situation to shoot. High contrast between the subjects and surrounding but i think u did great.

Hi,
good catch of the blue pouch, it seems like the light was harsh, by overexposing you burnt the rocks and as a result it is very distracting.
Your shot is very busy IMHO the headless birds don't look good. I agree with Dennis about the birds on the right.
