Had another chance to try and get a good shot of the Snowy Owl, this time a different bird which was happier to look straight at me although this time he was on his perch and I could not get a clean backdrop:cry: Anyway here goes and let me know what you think:D
Cheers Ricky

Inspite of a captive look, I like the shot. It appears that you got a clean shot of a very white bird, properly exposed and focused. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot! Very nice looking bokeh really helps that owl pop out of the picture. :)

Kinda reminds me of that "O RLY?" pic on the net. hehe

Dancinec Thanks for your comments:D

VolleyBrad cheers for your kind words, I do like the way the Owl pops out also, but I do not get your comments re- "O RLY" ?

Cheers Superdiver I appreciate your comments:D I take it like me you are into Diving ? What do you get upto?

Zip Thanks for commenting mate, yeah I am not a fan of the "Jess" as they are known but they are required if you are going to look after the bird safely and properly, Falconry (although not directly called that when it is Owls, this Falconer also has other raptors) is one of the oldest sports on the planet and falconers have been using the "Jess" to secure the birds for thousands of years, so you reckon they must be okay for the bird? ;)

kr88 Yeah I do love these guys eyes also, there is something about Owls that make them look cute, although have a look at their Talons and I am sure if they had a wee nip at your hand with them they would not be so cute:lol:

Cheers to all the comments so far Ricky

Well, "back in the day" I used to dive many times a week and led dive tours on weekends, then I had a family and it has decreased to a couple of times a year (at best) and never up here where I learned to dive, but only on vacations in warmer waters...LOL

I only dove air and never had time to get into mixed gas so I never went deeper then about 190 (which was only once and it was a testosterone thing...LOL)....But up here all the water is deep so we went to 130-150 regularly.

My biggest interest was diving the old dump sites and old wrecks or burned down docks and looking for treassures (mostly junk to be honest). I love finding old stuff even if I brought it back in after hauling it around underwater in a goodie bag for 30 minutes waiting to get to the surface to see what I had actually found...I have boxes and boxes of cool old turn of the century bottles and some plates and stuff...

Ricky,

There's this picture that's been floating around on the internet for a while that people like to sarcastically post on message boards...
