There is a fantastic book called "Ski and Snow Country: The Golden Years of Skiing in the West, 1930s - 1950s" featuring the ski photographs of Ray Atkeson. PLEASE take a look at this website.
(Keep in mind that this was the 1930s to 50s - before ski lifts and before quality 35mm. He hiked up mountains CARRYING his skis and 4x5 Speed Graphic Camera with tripod.)
The guy that did the preface stated "The difference between a professional and an amateur photographer is that a amateur will take 100 shots and show you 100. A Professional will take 100 shots and show you 10."
Point is, I only post the 10 of 100. This give the illusion that I know what I am doing. (Well, for me, the 1 out of 100)
