I took a bunch of pictures during the Easter weekend at my parents house of all of the azaleas in bloom. I had a particular like to this image and wanted to see what others think. I took the RAW file and created two images from it. I then copied one into the other and merged the layers with 30% opacity. I ran a Velvia script, followed by a local contrast USM, and then Mike's Framer. Please be honest and let me have it. The shot was taken with my Tamron and it was about as close as I could get.

This mastercard commercial doesn't apply here folks. ANY feedback at all? I would hate to keep taking shots like these if they are no good. Save me some hard drive space, spare me the PP time...:D

I think it looks good. I've been trying my hand at flowers for the past couple of weekends. My biggest problem is I keep centering up everything. I notice it when I launch Bridge... but I zone out when I'm looking through the viewfinder.

perfect shot, the only thing i would say is that it is a little overexposed, other than that it is great, beautiful flower ;)

Overexposed? Really? I used two blended layers to bring out the shadow detail. Did I go too far? In the original the bottom, just to the right of the flower is black.

Thanks. I am glad to hear it wasn't the picture that was off.

Does anyone else have anything at all to say?

Exposure looks good to me except for that hot spot on the left of the bottom petal? Might be just white. What really bothers me is the flower partially cropped behind the main flower. Just doesn't look balanced.

Thank you beachgirl and titus.

Titus-Would it help to have used less DOF? Or perhaps a different crop? I believe that part of the flower is white, but I will check.
