First posting for a public, non-family audience. My 7 year old daughter getting what she loves most, attention. :)

C&C welcome.

Looks good to me! Welcome to the forum.

Something looks a bit strange about the skin tones, but that may be jpg compression?

And maybe crop it so that she's not so centered. You caught a wonderful expression!

Beacher,

The expression is quite nice and I think that you can do a couple of things to improve on the picture. Like a previous comment mentioned, you might want to crop to follow the rules of thirds. If that is new to you, you might read a bit about it here:

http://www.betterphoto.com/exploring/tips/thirds.asp (external link)

Also, the fact that is too "yellow" can be fixed very easy if you do a temperature or white balance correction. A move towards the colder side will bring out the blues.

You have a great model there that will inspire you to learn this technical things in no time.

Thanks all. Someone stole our Canon P&S (1.3MP) at Christmas Eve service. At the time I was very upset, but a few months later a friend had a used 10D for sale with a Tokina 24-200 3.5 and a 50mm 1.8. $450 later and I have my first SLR. :) I drool over the photos I see on here and hope to be able to get "the eye" for framing.

Nice photo, but definately a bit yellow.

Altered using the eye droppers in a curves layer.

Looks good mickle. Guess I should look up some monitor calibration threads too. :)

Oh wow! It looks much better after the yellow has been removed! Great job!
