i was walking around town yesterday, and i saw this flag on a flagpole. the sun was really bright so i thought "hmm, i wonder what would happen if i caught the sun behind the flag" and VOILA !

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/png'

Canon EOS 350D Rebel XT, Canon EF 28-90mm, Canon EF 75-300mm, my eyes(best piece of equipment so far)

I like the picture alot. I like the fact that you were able to make a good shot out of this. However, there is a dirty spot just to the right of the flag thats really catching my eyes.

I also like it a lot. I like the ragged edges and the gossamer translucency. I did not notice the spot as did ArcticEOS, but I DID notice the vacancy on the left 1/3 of the frame, and the pole practically cutting the shot in two.

I am wondering if a square crop might work. Squared are had to do - hard to give interest and balance in the most static shape that exists - but I think this subject and shot might benefit.

hey, thanks for the good replies. and as far as that spot goes, i will fix it later on today when i get home(at work at the moment)

and as far as the cropping goes: i was thinking of maybe getting rid of the left side of the image and making the flag weighted to the left, with some space on the right. what do you think ?

Cropping with space to the right would be my choice also. Great shot!
