I took this not far from home because the sky was so blue, the grass was so green and there were lovely clouds in the sky. I feel like I broke the rule of thirds in a few different ways but does it work anyway? I took it with my Rebel XT and kit lens at
1/80, 18mm, F/22 ISO 200. Would another setting have been better?
Thanks!

Well you've got the horizon in the middle... but I'm jamming on the color.

the image has some pretty significant noise, try shooting next time with a lower ISO, other than the noise it is a great shot, the colours are very vibrant, but the noise definetly bugs me, good job :) :)

I am not an expert but I think f22 is too much causes diffraction .Only f14 or f16 at most.
Nice spring day. Regards

#1 clouds are blown out. (never mind, it was from a messed up LCD screen,)

#2 good that you are putting something in the foreground(tree), also good that it is placed where it is, but the branches are way too big, they fill up over half the frame. it's distracting.

to me, this looks like a snapshop, a this is what my backyard looks like.

just where you are standing, it creates a good leading line but there is nothing interesting to this photo which classifies it as a landscape photo, snapshot yes, for that it works. it would of helped if you shot a little earler or later in the day, it would of added dimensionality to it. just my thoughts..my opinion only

feel free to edit please.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think what looks like noise on the water is actually light reflecting on the water. It does not look as bad in the full version. I actually hadn't noticed it. I don't think it would have been due to an 200ISO. I agree that I probably should have used the f14 or f16 aperture though. You have a pretty nice backyard dietcookie! This was taken in a park not far from my home. It was about the most interesting place I could find spur of the moment when I saw the sky and the clouds. I was already late in the day(after 5PM). I just wondered if you can actually get away with a centered horizon in a photo like this. I knew I was breaking that rule!

Should have used iso100 and f16 at the smallest.
