It has taken me a couple weeks to train these guys ,but I finally got them to feed from an elevated perch that I setup for ( I think ) great bokeh. Let me know what you think.

Thank you all very much for all the wonderfull comments about my goldfinch shots it is nice to feel that I am finally contributing rather than just taking away from the forum!

Very nice, under the circumstances. I'm sure there would have been more contrast without the rain.

Saw one of these male cardinal on TV this night on Nanny 911.
But yours is much better. I like the trickle of rain on his forehead on the second shot.

Hi,
two great shots, sharp and good comp & BG.
I love the rain in # 2 (what ss?)
What is your exif, as I noticed the second shot is lighter than the first, the black is better exposed in the second, did you over expose or is it processing?
Regards,
Clare

Thanks all for the kind words.

2. 300mm 4.5 1/250 iso 800

I think the difference is in the focal length. I am about 6' away from the perch and the cardinal in the first shot caught me off gaurd.

Kent County, New Brunswick, CANADA
has to be one of the world's best kept secret. It is bordered by the sea to the east and is made up of small villages, farms, forest, brooks and rivers. I have lived here all my life and
would recommend it to anyone.

Yes, the rain adds alot to these...especially the second one. The crest is raised beautifully in the first shot.

Love that second shot!

I think these are cute, I am especially fond of taking photo's in the rain like this... Mother Nature doesn't role up and hide when it rains!
