20D owners:
what do you find your preference is as far as autoexposure and autofocus controls?

I tryed it out as the autofocus on the ae lock button and the ae lock function with the shutter release half depressed and found it easier.

Also I've changed cf #13 so now the joystick always selects focus points, and the focus point selector button throws it back into using all the points.

What do you find your preference to be?

Cf4 takes getting used to--I haven't yet, so leave it on factory settings.
Cf13, well I set that the day I got the camera. Direct select is what I am used to from the Nikon P&S, so that was a natural move for me.

I have both the 20D & 30D and they are set on cf #4 - #3. I have the AF MODE in AI Servo; 1 touch the * to lock focus and use shutter for exposure. Does need a bit of practice; but it's slick once you get it.
AF Point is Always on Center.

i tried this as well today. the AF with * and AE with half shutter. i didn't know exactly what was happening at first, but i can see this being useful once you get use to it. i think i'll go with it for a while.

I assume you mean with CF 4 set to 1 or 3, and the answer sadly is no. I love to use the * button for focus lock, but if I do switch it back when I need FEL.
