Amazing captures Keith, I would take either one. The second is great because of the background, but nothing wrong with the first.

Kent County, New Brunswick, CANADA
has to be one of the world's best kept secret. It is bordered by the sea to the east and is made up of small villages, farms, forest, brooks and rivers. I have lived here all my life and
would recommend it to anyone.

Beauties with #2 being my favorite.

Just wish my name was on these pics.

Very well done!

Nice captures, Keith. This hawk then is the previously posted lizard-eater with the lowered wings? If I remember your comment correctly, you said he sometimes droops his wings and sometimes doesn't. Anyway, another fine job and I prefer #2 as well for the clear blue sky bg.

Yes he is the same one (I believe)...he had the wings down and then up for this one two. He did swoop down directly at me and over my head, by about two feet and land on the grass to grab a treat. I tried to track him for the flight, but there is something about a Red Shoulder coming at you while you're looking at him with a 400mm lens, I just pulleed the camera down and ducked....(missed the flight shot)...If he is true to form, I hope to have another opportunity with him.....

Thanks all for your commennts1
