This is my first attempt with my new 350D, and processing RAW. All comments welcome, and any tips on processing etc. much appreciated. ;)

Sorry guy's, i'm having Photobucket problems. For some reason the full size version is coming out completely pixelated when i upload it!?! It's fine on my system, so god know's why that's happening... :(

Okay, Photobucket seems to be working now!?!

After learning how to disable photoshop from interfering with my RAW files i started again with this one.

My first reaction is one of wondering - do those bluebells really grow like that, naturally, or is this some kind of a sandwich of two different shots.

I will take it on faith that it is not a composite of separate pictures, and that they do grow like this (we don't have such around my neck of the woods).

Very beautiful picture with good composition and nice lighting (although a little subdued). Looks like your exposure and color balance are good.

I especially like the foreground running so deep and that you have a really great DOF.

Congratulations!

Your file has no embedded EXIF data - consider a different resizing scheme (although I don't know what the Photobucket may do to your files).

The Microsoft Image Resizer
can be downloaded from here:
http://www.microsoft.com …owertoys/xppowertoys.mspx (external link)

After downloading, install it. It will not show up in your Start->Programs list, but will become available when you right click on an image file.

After right clicking on the file, look for an item in the menu that pops up called "Resize Pictures".
Select "Resize Pictures" from the pop up menu and then select the "Medium" size, which will be limited to 800 x 600 pixels and will be of good quality.
The EXIF data that is embedded in your image file will be preserved (unless it has already been removed by some other processing).

Thanks for the comments Bob! ;)

It's an insane amount of bluebells isn't it!?! It's the only wood around here that has so many...

When i convert the RAW image in Photoshop, i'm assuming the EXIF data should still be in the file? I was playing with 2 files at one point, i had this version and the same shot stopped down a couple of points. I was playing with a layer mask, but didn't like the results so deleted it and kept the original. The only other thing i did was copy the original layer, up the contrast slightly, then merge down. Would any of this cause the loss of EXIF data? Or would saving for web lose it!?!

Thanks for the link, i'll give that a go. ;)

Yes, that's the culprit - 100% guilty!

Yeah i found a thread that explained the whole work around, going through Image Ready etc... Maybe more grief than it's worth.

The Image re-sizer works well though, so thanks for that. I'll use that from now on. ;)
