Sorry about that - I'm having troubles with embedding.
this one is blurry because he was in motion - but that is some fish!
and still, he looks for more!

RonnF Senior Member More info | May 04, 2006 15:03 | #2 Three very nice shots, Nancy. You can easily straighten the left-leaning horizon in #1. I like your low perspective in the shots and you're right, that's a nice sized sunfish in #2! I think I would use pp to increase the contrast a little in the shots, but #2 and #3 are a nice action sequence. And #1 is a very nice portrait. May 04, 2006 15:41 | #5 Thanks everyone! I am started to hate Photoshop. I can't make up my mind what looks better and what doesn't (when I do it - everyone else's efforts are tremendous!). EOS 6D, SX50HS, Tamron 150-600

Are these taken with the 70-300 mm lens? It looks bright enough you should be able to either bump up the iso to increase shutter speed or change the f-stop so that you could get shutter speeds in the 1/800 sec range or faster. Use of a tripod would take out your movement, do you use the IS on this lens? Dennis

By the end of the morning, I was up to higher ISOs and different f-stops, but haven't had a chance to look at those shots yet. I don't think they were particularly memorable. I had the new monopod in the car with me, but never got out to try it . (as I mentioned earlier, the chain gang was out on the road and having a lunch break) EOS 6D, SX50HS, Tamron 150-600

(as I mentioned earlier, the chain gang was out on the road and having a lunch break) I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow (to San Diego, with a trip to the Zoo in the plans), but leaving the XT home in favor of the old S2. When I get back, I plan to try some early morning shots, in order to avoid that bright glare. We have plenty of GB herons here as well. Get out to the Point Loma Tide Pools during a minus tide and you can get fairly close to them. Dennis
