Mallards may be common but can still be photogenic - your images are a case in point!

Hi,
good catch, they look all busy with themselves. One thing I find about ducks they might be everywhere but they don't stay still for a second, not as easy to shoot as you would imagine.
I perfer # 2 as she is framed better and you can see her eye.
Very good exposure in both and great colors in #1.
Do you think your DoF was sufficient in # 2?
I have a Manfrotto monopod 484rc2 & Head 658b but find it doesn't go low enough, how do you find your?
All the Best
Clare

Thanks Clare ... I am not familiar with your setup. The leitz momopod and manfrotto 222 head in a fully collapsed state just reaches my pants pocket for height ( I am 6 feet tall). I can sit with knees up to my chest or in a kneeling position and the monopod is low enough. Any lower than that I would tend to use elbows on the ground or my tripod which gets down very close to the ground ( Manfrotto 190).

And thanks to Anthony, Dennis, Sindri, Dan, Photodawg1, DDA, Rob, Dimitri, Chris, Keith, Leo,Stan, Eric, Paul, Reigh and Ted for taking the time to comment:D
