Hi Everyone,
I have just acquired a shopworn but functional DCS-520 (An EOS1n KODAK Made into a nice Digital camera). I have a Zeiss Pancolar 50mm lens I've used with amazing results on an EOS Rebel Film camera via a nifty lens adapter (It's 100% Manual - Preset Aperture and Focus - Old School Style). I recently tried to use the lens on the 520 and it balks at giving me proper exposure, at least on the preview LCD. My assumption (dangerous things they are) was that I could just put the camera in full manual, set the camera to the aperture I've pre-set the lens to, choose an appropriate shutter speed (via hand held meter {you do have one don't you  } or the old sunny/f16 rules. Alas, no joy in mudville. I get a nearly pure white image on the LCD. Does anyone have suggestions? I'm wondering if it's fixable in software during acquisition? HELP.
Sincerely
Richard W.

You should be able to set the lens to your desired aperture, then set the camera to Av (aperture priority) and let it set the shutter speed. But don't try to judge exposure from the LCD - they're notoriously unreliable. Also recheck that the camera and meter both agree on the ISO you're using.

Thank you Jon,
I am going to go shooting at a Local Minor League Game Sunday, I'll give it a "shot" :D . I am hoping it works well. I've seen enlargements from pancolar lenses from film and slides that will take your breath away.
