One of the most beautiful (and exotic looking) shorebirds. They are noisy and very visible, but not so approachable. I got lucky! And I was happier than I expected with these shots. Hope you like. These were taken on the beach at Stone Harbor NJ..the same place where I took my Snowy Owl shots in Winter. These were taken with the 400mm and Tamron 1.4 teleconverter.

I shot these this winter in Texas. Yours are fabulous! That's a cool bird that you captured very well. I love the flight shot. Very, very good:lol:

Excellent series. The Oystercatcher is indeed a very noisy bird but a fun one to shoot. Love the composition in all shots. Number three is my favorite. Like the slightly raised foot and the water splashes around it. The once we have here have more orange colour in their feet. Love these shots. Well done indeed. :-)

Best regards

Sindri

That's a spectacular bird and you've captured it and it's behaviour very well. The red beak and the matching red eyes are really striking compared to the red of the body colors. :)

Wonderful colors in this bird's eye and beak. Lots of character and sweet flight shot that shows the nice white pattern on the wing. Excellent.

Excellent captures, You have a productive shoreline. I have seen Black Oystercatchers along the Calif Coast, just never have photographed one.

Oyster catchers are indeed very noisy, but hard to compose a shot of them. Not only have you captured them well but you have highlighted the behavioral of them too. Great shots!
