S3 IS would be cool too, but I always go with something that fits in my pocket. Believe it or not, the Casio Exilim S2 was my camera of choice for events like those. Someone borrowed it and broke the LCD and it's not made anymore, but I'm looking to pick one up off eBay. Really tiny and light, fits in the front pocket of jeans without really noticing it's there, and it records the same (or more) memories as my 20D. I say more because on trips like those it's ALWAYS in my pocket and ready to go where the 20D is often left behind.

Having said that, on the day I DID bring my 20D with me, I'd probably go with my 10-22 and/or 70-200/2.8L IS.

My dad has a G2 that I could borrow for the trip. I carried my 20D with the 70-200/2.8L IS for 2 days at Disneyland last month. It did get a bit heavy, but I did get some good shots.

But, the OP also stated that he was dissapointed with the low light performance of his current lens. How do you think a P&S would stack up?

The 24-70 is an awesome lens and great for lowlight performance. Just make sure you take lots of photos with it so you get used to it. It does take a little getting used to before you get the photos you want.

I have taken the kit lens, the 70-200 and the 35L.. needless to say the 35L was the perfect length and produced the best pictures by a wide margin. Although for the parades and kids playing in the water, I did love the 70-200

We've got the so-Cal annual pass and hit up Disneyland about once every 3 or so weeks, just for a few hours. I've taken all sorts of combos, but I agree with Phil: take the P&S. Especially if you've got little tykes to care for (as I do), the P&S is plenty camera for the job. If no kids, then maybe it's another story. But I'm in the "pack-lite" camp on the Disneyland debate. We take our S400 Elph now, and that's about it.

I just got back from Disneyworld last week. I took all of my gear. I mostly used the 24-70L. I also got a whole bunch of good pics with the 70-200 2.8L. There were times when the 24-70 was on that I wish it could go a bit more wide. I did bring the 10-22 but when you're at Disney it's nice to not stop and change lenses. I have now made up my mind to purchase the 17-55 2.8 IS. I think this would serve me pretty well.

Lastly I do wish I had a P&S with me. We lost our P&S about 2 months ago. A nice P&S would get good memories and be nice and light to carry all day. Not to mention some have great IQ.
