Custom funtion on G6?

I really like the CF4-1 feature where you can set your focus with the * button on the 30D.

Can you do this with the G6?

In the Pro1 (user’s guide pg. 104) and the G6 (user’s guide pg. 105), asterisk (*) works for Locking the exposure setting or AE lock.

The user’s guide tells nothing about locking the focus setting, but the following procedure work for me in the Pro1:

• aim the camera to your subject
  
• half press the shutter button to get the center rectangle green
  
• immediately press the MF manual focus button
  

Thanks Refael, I tried that and it does work. The shutter button on the 30D has spoiled me and after using it the button on the G6 seems harder to find the 1/2 way point and I end up shooting before I am ready. The focus with the * button just seems more logical after using it. I will probably store the manual focus setting in C1 as you illustrated above.
