Taken a couple of days ...one of my favourite birds and they stay all 4 seasons:)

Canon 30D and 400mm F5.6

ISO 320 1/250 sec at F5.6 on the first and F6.3 on the second.

Hi,
two great shots that show this birds features really well,
good colors, great exposure and sharp.
IMHO a little more leg room in # 2, but as we know these guys don't stop hopping:)

Pretty shots Gary. The colors are great. I've yet to get a shot of a blue jay that's not either on the feeder of way up in a maple. They're very timid here.

Thanks Clare for the comment. Here is an almost identical shot ( tilt of the head and less aware or bothered by me) with more leg room.taken seconds before... and thanks to everyone who commented on the shots:D .
