more specifically, the half of our acre that's not wooded--the yard.
Some carolina chickadees have moved into a birdhouse on our front porch, and they looked hungry, so I put some seed in the feeder.
Instant bird party. There were house finches, titmouses, cardinals, a towhee, at least one white-breasted nuthatch, and this fella who has been away all spring.
Apparently this one wasn't invited. We found her wandering around the back yard, feeling sorry for herself.
