i saw this the other day and decited to take a picture of it, unfortanly it hung out in the shadows while i could see it.. so this is the best i got, they are not bad, but what isthe bird?

It is indeed. The shots certainly are not bad, considering the bird is in the shadow you got all the details. Lovely shots, well done.
