Beautiful downtown Novi?

I was walking down the sidewalk & 2' away saw this. Then I saw the sign. While there were other areas with water in them nearby, it seems a shame to me. There's virtually no available parking there after 5PM & even the "NO PARKING" fire lanes are full, so they're going to need a LOT of land, which will probably include the other areas with nearby water.

Sometimes I have to wonder about some of the improvements we're making!? It just seems as if someone said, "We can build a site with water that will attract wildlife downtown for people to see from the sidewalk, & it will be completly FREE, most communities would jump at the chance?

Just a comment on the times, & not looking for an environmental Us/Them debate here.

A lovely place with a clouded future...

It's a shame though that such a gorgeous place you have photographed is going to change.

With regard to your first shot though, I love the light blue on the water as it reflects the trees on the bank. Wonderful shot.

I'm not sure, Marie. There was something bigger there flying away just before I took the shot. These seemed about 1/3 smaller.

It was the right time of day, about 6:30.

Naw they would want to put up another Bell Tire or a Rite-Aid. "No. VI" even has gated guarded communities now. Gated and guarded in Novi??? Might need it in 30 years but not now I dont think. I'm right across the street from you in Wixom.

I'm sure that you're right Marie. I can tell a turkey from a chicken (by the number of people sitting around the table!)

I'm in Troy, RDNZL. We don't need guarded, gated communities. We have "Hazeltucky" just south of us.

They're either herons or egrets, we have both here in IL and I think there in MI as well.

I forgot about the egrets, sounds more like what they may be

No worries, I've gotten them confused before which is how I know both live in our area.

Egrets? I don't remember ever seeing one, so if I get back there, I'll be sure to take a longer lens.
