roar, that's what I thought. Nice composition here. Only annoyance is the background, a little too ugly .. have you tried a little PP with Selective Colour Mask?

Thanks for the feedback, spaced. I'm not sure I understand what you mean about a Selective Color Mask. How does that work?

Awww, that's a cruel joke Becca!

hehe. I like it though, maybe a bit more contrast and level out the background/horizon :)

I like this shot, Becca. Well composed, colors are sharp.

Here's something I like to do when I want to "take out" a background:

Nice photo. I know there have been some suggestions made but what about a shallower DOF so the background it out of focus?

I like the background as it is, I don't think it's too distracting, the leveling needs improving though. But I have to say the dandelions shot, is extremely good. The perspective from nearest to far with this low shot is good.

I hope you don't mind me having a play around with the image. To be honest I'm trying to learn all about photoshop, and after reading some of the previous comments thought I'd have a go. I straightened out the horizon by duplicating the level, then transform & rotate, which I then flattened out. This has obviously messed up the frame.

The I used the gaussian blur filter to simulate a shallower depth of field, and used levels to adjust the brightness of the background trying to make that a bit more even, and (possibly less distracting). And after all that I'm not sure whether it improves the shot or not, it's just a bit different.

As I said, it's only me playing with photoshop, and would hate you to think of it as critisism, but thought I'd just share the end result.

Hey! when did you take a photo of my front yard?  Just kidding my lawn isn't that bad this year. Beautiful shot, and a wonderful angle to take them.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! This is the first time I've attempted a shot like this and I'll keep all your advice in mind for the next time I try something similar.

Sandy - I snuck in while you were out shooting barns!
