Your butter-butts look different than ours. Are they the same?

Hey it's May. The time for warblers. Nice shot of Sir Butterbutt. We take off for the Magee wildlife area near Toledo Ohio this coming Friday for International Migratory Bird Weekend. Hope to see at least 15 species before they jump over to Point Pelee Ontario.

Warblers do indeed have a lovely sound when they sing. The striking blue sky set's of this beautiful bird well. All good captures of the yellow rumped warbler.

Nice shots, Wayne, under difficult conditions.

Yours is quite good as well, Dennis. I have the same trouble with mockingbirds here. Sometimes they look like your bird, sleek and svelte, and other times puffy and rotund. Maybe it's part of their internal HVAC?

Very nice shots and a good comparison of the two populations of Yellow-rumped Warbler (used to be two seperate species): the Myrtle with the white throat patch and the Audubon's with the yellow throat patch. Audubon's is a western NA race, while Myrtle is present throughout. We get mostly Myrtle in Texas.

You got him nicely Wayne! Shortly after you left we spotted a Palm Warbler and another that I have yet to ID (looked an awful lot like a Wilson's)...bring on warbler season!!
