Black Birds with a Red Shoulder Patch.

A couple Red-winged Blackbirds singin' away...
Tried a few shots; but not many keepers..
Comments always appreciated...

The first one unfortunately has very little detail in the blacks. The second holds up much better with better exposure. If I had a good flash and a Better Beamer I would work with that sytem on a bird like this under these this type of lighting.

I agree with Gary, that second one is a keeper. Beware of the Better Beamer however.

Have to agree, that 2nd shot is super though.

#2 shows great potential, but I find the crop a little on the tight side. You captured him on an ideal perch...

Thats two more than I have of the r.w.b. The second is my favorite also.

Great shots Ted. I'd prefer the first for the pose but the second for exposure. All I can say is practice your fill flash.

#2 is your best Teddy!

But.....If you notice the patch, the tricky part is not to blow the orange (the one that fades from the red). You did a bit on this one. And by the light, I'm assuming it was 10ish....These guys are best photographed very early with a warm light or on overcast days....from my limited experience.
