Donington Park on Sunday for the BARC Legends and BMW championships. I forgot just how difficult it is at Donington to get a clean background in your shots, so I spent a fair amount of time muttering to myself and swapping postions to get something that I was happy with. Weather was wet in the morning, damp most of the afternoon and the sun came out for the last race.

Rob Pritchard's very quick Vauxhall Caterham in the newly sponsored Ace Vehicles Championship:

We had one very 'interesting incident' - a spectator's car on the infield embankment charged down the hill, took out 10ft of fence, shot across the track and ended up on the other side of the old hairpin. No one inside and it was between races. How do you explain it to your insurance company.

BTCC next week.

Nice shots Kenny - love the Legends shots (looking forward to seeing those at Oulton this year)

Would you mind divulging your spot for 3,4 & 5? I like the angles on all three :)

i had the same thing happen to me at donington about 10 years ago. i was driving an old alfa sprint with tyres that were way too bald. i was driving along on the infield on the wet grass and it starts sliding sideways down the hill.. it was heading towards some people in a car parked on the slope and they were laughing (i wasnt laughing!). luckily it stopped before it hit them, but if it had hit them, they would have slid down the hill and onto the track. suprised it hasnt happened before

Nice set of shots Ken, like the 'veggie shoes' Legend and the Darion one the best

It was good to catch up with you again at Croft at the weekend.

I am sure it was an MX5, they had a photo of it in Motorsport News being towed away, apparantly no damage and the red faced owner was able to drive it home.

Cheers
Ian

Near the marshals post opposite and just up from the pit lane entrance, shooting up towards Goddards. Not much between you and the track, other than a 2ft high wall and some grass.

It was hard work keeping the ambulances at Foggarty's out of shots, or stopping the burger van from sneaking into the frame shooting up towards Redgate exit. Most of the backgrounds look industrial and a bit shabby. Sort of thing you see in music videos.

I shot most at 600mm to get the angles and framing such that the background wasn't as intrusive, plus a nice looking blur. This one demonstrates two things, the background disappearing act and just how agile a Legend's suspension is. Ian, veggie shoes man is friend and client.
