Frozen waterfall

Here are a couple of shots of a frozen waterfall from the gongola that I caught up to work in the winter. Commuting was such a drag... ;)

Beautiful scene and excellent composition.
Both shots have the same problems in exposure. The highlights are blown out and there is little detail in the shadows. If you shot this in RAW you can probably make some adjustments to improve the situation - otherwise, I would suggest some attempts at a manual HDR merge.

Did you do a lot of sharpening, or is the ice really that lumpy?

A bit of sharpening, but yes the ice was that lumpy. Also it was a very bright sunny day and I was shooting though the perspex of the gondola which was reflecting the light which made things a little tricky.

But here is another attempt direct from the RAW taking your comments into account. Feel free to edit it further if you like.
