This little guy certainly kept his distance, I think he knew I was handolding my 100-400 hence the poor quality posts ( heavy croped ). Hope to return to this private lake again tomorrow with monopod and tripod so hope to get some better pics.

Last Two.The swan isn't the best exposed shot but I didn't want to hang around he was about to 'ave me ( Nesting) and the greylags in flight I didn't have the lens set on the right focus mode but I'm getting there, I think.
Any comments and help on the above pics., appreciated.

Nice series of shots, i seem to have the same problem with great crested grebes just can`t get close, i like the geese and the swan even though its dark you`ve captured good detail in the wings.

It's usually very hard to get close too the grebes so you did very well. :-)

Well done on all the shots.

I like the shots of the Canadian & Greylag geese. Clarity is very good.
I love the flock of geese flying too.
The two headed loch-ness goose has appeared in your last shot.

Nice Grebe ! Saw some other Rother Valley this afternoon - all just too far away from my 70-200 lens. Must have been 8 of them in total, bobbing about, diving and doing mating dances etc. They look fab when the sun is going down :)

Very tough to get close to this species and get a clear clean shot. Nice job considering. I rather like the Greylag swimming in the pond for the colors, exposure, detail , reflection, subject and composition. Nice!
