The retired Nifty, while a little old and tired, still gets out of the house every once in a while.

Yesterday, we made our way to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Here is a classic ride. An old wooden rollercoaster. In fact, if you have ever seen the Dirty Harry movie "Sudden Impact", parts of it were filmed right here on the boardwalk.

Edit: Spoiler! In the film, Harry fights the bad guy on the top of the rollercoaster tracks. The bad guy falls and goes through the roof of the carousel, landing on the head of a unicorn.
The carousel is NOT under the rollercoaster, and there is no unicorn. Sorry.

A fairly busy day on the boardwalk.

The reason we went to Santa Cruz, is it was my daughters birthday. We took her and a couple of her friends out there for the day.

That's Isabelle on the left, Brooke on the right, and my daughter Rachel in the center.

Awwww Killjoy.. now I'll never think of that movie the same again!!

Great shots of the Santa Cruz board walk.. It's like Venice in SoCal, but cleaner and not so many freaks and panhandlers

Go to see Original Nifty #2 is still taking great shots and getting out and having fun!

BTW.. what body are you shooting with?

Well, the funny thing is, the majority of my Nifty shots are done with my 20D.
I was carrying both bodies, with the Nifty being the sole lens on my 20D.

Lately though, I think since about the fire dancers, I've just been switching lenses back and forth on the 50D.

I don't get as many shots that way, but I don't have all that extra weight, and don't have two camera bodies bumping uglies around my neck. :lol:
