I'll keep posting to all the POTN threads so that I deserve hosting the Nifty gem. Now +1 :)

To quote the qualifications......

=]At present we would like anyone wishing to host have at least a 200 post count or have been active on POTN for a year. Hopefully this will reduce the number of people that do not participate in a timely manner, or "forget" to move Nifty on to the next host, or simply don't care.

Please don't take this wrong. It's just that in the past, we have had people "forget" that Nifty didn't belong to them, neglect to post, decided that they were too busy to ship to the next person, or found out the cost of shipping was prohibitive only after they had the lens in their possession.
I personally have had to go over another members house and try and retrieve a Nifty lens.

I don't have problem with shipping costs or even driving it to the next member, hopefully we'll see the nifty somewhere in the chicago area.

You're close to meeting the post count .. Add your name to the bottom of the USA part of the list and copy and paste the entire list to a new post and sit back and follow the thread. By the time you are up you should have met the post count.

Is there a maximum required amount of time to use this once we get it in our possession? Like 2 weeks or something like that?

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Something like that.
It depends .. The USA Nifty has a number of people waiting to host ..
Though we have 2 in rotation it is nice to keep them moving. If you post a lot we like that, if you just hang on to it without posting .. That is not a good thing. :p

It was recently that one of the Nifties was out of rotation for almost 3 months .. And without pictures ..

I have a crop body and a FF body I'd like to play with it. Hopefully I'll have a wedding or two I can shoot with it as well whenever I get my hands on it. Other than that there are a couple cool old Civil War spots near my home where I can get some shots with it. Good old American History.

The idea of hosting really is about showing all of us where you live, it isn't about you getting a play with a lens :p.

For instance .....

As Joayne mentions, what is normal for you is not for us.
Therefore I will make a list of the things I would like to see. (Should have done this myself)

1. Where you live (mud hut)
2. Your transport
3. then I think it would be interesting to see the main street of your town.
4. Local Pub
5. Local church
6. Main business of your area. (Why the town is there)
7. Any interesting stuff going on in your town. E.g. market,
8. Any other attractions of the area.
9. Historical landmarks
10. Local scenery

Just a reminder of what we like to see!

Well I have not had a chance to get Nifty out of the house, yesterday just filled up with Thanksgiving stuff, and today was early morning at work followed by meeting the wife for some black Friday shopping (ended up getting a new couch, love seat and recliner ... was not on the list lol). Anyways had to slap Nifty on and get a few shots. The little figure dude is a Color Blank, my 8 year old got it for being good while shopping and colored him in. I had a little fun playing with OCF. Rumor has it we may be Christmas tree shopping this weekend so that could make for some fun images.

On the way over, Nifty spotted the part of the wing, where you weren't allowed to position yourself.

At the layover in Heathrow, nifty was a bit scared if it was going to get caught in the security check, but it made it through ...
