Tessa, you were the best host yet. Your posts were really enjoyed and will be dearly missed. You have set the bar for how to host nifty.

Yes. I totally agree. And I'm next...

On a happier note: Nifty has arrived and is sitting in my living room. So is the little Estonian dolly. Thank you, Tessa. That made me smile! :)

But I do think Nifty is jinxed somehow. All week the weather has been beautiful. Cold, yes. But dry and lots of sunshine. Great for shooting. But today I woke up to rain and now, end of the afternoon, it is still raining. What a start of Nifty's visit to Amsterdam...

Still, I hope the weather will improve a bit so Nifty and I can get out and do some serious shooting this weekend!

Yay!!!

The postman didn't come this morning and I ended up having to go to the post office to pick Nifty up. Problem was it was raining. Steadily. All day. I waited as long as I could, hoping it would clear up but it didn't, so I didn't get Nifty until late afternoon, just before the post office closed. And I came home like a drenched cat! :)

All right, a picture of the little Estonian Doll. As I removed the little darling from her plastic box I discovered there was something beneath her which turned out to be a fridge magnet. Tessa told me it shows Estonian's national bird and flower. And, as pics were asked, Nifty's stay in Amsterdam starts with Estonia! :)

Here she is with the magnet as a shield.

And by her lonesome. Isn't she sweet?

Last week it was cold but dry and wonderfully sunny but today, as said, we had wall to wall rain. Here's proof. Taken late afternoon from my living room and my very first shot with Euro Nifty. Yay!

However, I did want to take a pic to show that Nifty is really in the Netherlands now, so I went outside and took a few quick pics of a canal close by. If you look carefully you can see a windmill in the distance. This is a 4 stitch panorama.

These are not real shots yet of course. Just a preliminary thing. I have plans, schedules, you name it. All I need now is a bit of fair weather! :)

At least there is a windmill in that pic Levina, to start of with some typical dutch stuff :)

Lol, yes indeed. I didn't think it would do to not have something typically Dutch in my first Nifty post. Although the rainy window might have been typical enough already...

Awesome train shots the other day SkyBaby!!!

Thanks! I had a lot of fun that day. I really need to go up there more often. It was so busy! The guys working on the tracks apparently caused a major several mile long traffic jamb of trains and as soon as they cleared the tracks, the trains were coming one right after the other from both directions. It was so cool to see.

~~

Nifty has been sent off to NightDiver13, and he should have it in just a few days. It was sure a fun time with Nifty here. I still have one more set of pictures to post here then that's it.

Thanks, joayne!! I had a blast. This reminded me I need to get out more often lol.

My last image post.

This is the Errea House. One of the oldest surviving structures in town and now I think the only original structure surviving from the 1800s, since we lost the Train Depot to fire in June of 2008 and it was rebuilt.

Some other info on it:

A shot from the garden of one of only two blooming plants at this time of year. It's quite a site later in spring though. Very lush and colorful in there.

Here's some from the interior. To start, a couple from the kitchen.

An old sewing machine. I love these things. My grandmother has an old Singer that's about this age. Still works, too!

One end of the hallway was a child's bedroom. I haven't seen a set up like that before. That was new to me.

The child's bedroom is behind me in this picture. You can see the green of the kitchen through the doorway.

Tessa: officially killing it for everybody else

You know I was wondering why every time I checked my thread subscriptions the Where's Nifty thread would be at or toward the top. Now I know why. Wow, missed a bunch of photos by Tessa and quite a few others. Great job everybody. This is the busiest I've seen this thread, maybe ever. Keep it going!

Great shots by both of you, Guitarfreak and Skybaby.
Love that snow!
Love the old house!

I'm about to go out. Nifty is all packed and ready. Hopefully I'll have something nice to share tonight. Or not nice, but I'll be sharing anyway. :)
