Ottawa, Canada
There's been a market operating in this location since Ottawa's early days as a lumber town. It's name -- Byward Market -- comes from the original name for Ottawa, which was Bytown. And Bytown was named after Lieutenant Colonel John By, the engineer who built the Rideau Canal which connects Ottawa to the St Laurence River. This building isn't original but I think it's been there since 1870 or so. Inside are shops and outside, it's surrounded by market stalls in the summer months.
