Since you all been pushing me, I've decided to be two hours late for work this morning, in order to atleast get my shots sorted.

As a starter, here is one of an old tree outside my residence, thats been carved into a sculpture, I have no knowledge of how it became so, eventho I've lived here fo rthe past 16 years, but it's somethign different than having to look at a cutdown tree.

There will be more to follow, but I do have to get to work now.

There have been several "hosts" who received Nifty, didn't shoot, and it took an act of congress to get them to send it on.

This guy (a buddy of mine) offered to go get it. I almost let him.

"Bear" as he is called by his "Brotherhood" has no problem confronting people, and usually gets his way. ;)

Edit: I've known him since High School, before he started riding with any clubs.

Levina, since you are that curious.....
There was a "host" in the Bay Area who received Nifty, held it for months, and didn't shoot.
He also claimed he was too busy to send it on.
It took four trips to his house to convince him to release the lens to me. It was about 50 miles round trip each time. Three trips by me, and a fourth by a coworker who lived closer than I did.
This guy (a buddy of mine) offered to go get it. I almost let him.

Wow. Great story, Killjoy. Thanks for telling it!
Your friend sure looks intimidating and would have had no problems getting Nifty from any unwilling host!!! Heck, if he came to my door I would give him my Nifty, both cameras and a bag to carry it in...:lol:

As you can see, spring is on it's way here, and eventho this is taken two weeks ago, it represents when everything is beeing provoked by the sun to show itself.

On my way, I came across a Grass Snake, that was lying in the grass, soaking up all the suns beams.

While speaking of wild life, Nifty was also intrigued by the sight of a Toad on the welcome mat

Due to the nice weather, I decided to head out on the open road, and see where it would take me

Turns out it brought me to our summer house, which is a nice thatched house that was orriginaly build in 1962.

There's actualy a tragic story to it, it was build by the founder of well known Juwelery shop here in Denmark (Siersbøl (external link)) two years after the house was finished, the owner and three of his close bussiness partners decided to go fishing off the coast, in a tragic event the boat turned over and they all drowned, leaving four widows with 10 children combined.

While beeing there, I went for a walk on the beach and saw that eventho the wind was a cosy 62F, the water is still a chilling 45F yet still people felt it was time to hit the beach ... altho I only saw two that was actualy in the water.

That's a great set, Kenneth!
Love the first one with the subject isolation. Really lovely photograph that.
To have a frog on your doormat is well, weird? :) Great shot though.

So nice to see all the signs of Spring.
Sad story though about the people drowning. Water can be so treacherous...

Yay, Phil!! Looking forward to seeing Macungie! :)

Yeah, the minimum focusing distance of nifty is 0.3m, and I think I was pushing that limit on the first one, combined with it beeing a branch that was totaly isolated gave a nice bokeh of everything in the background.

I'm off to work now, and will post more when I get home tonight.

Ah, Kenneth!
Nice series..
I was a little confused about the frog/toad,
as it looks like it is sitting on astroturf (fake grass)!
Then I read it was your doormat! That's even more odd! ;)

This time I went on a metro ride to one of the parts here in Copenhagen that is known for it's experimental architecture.
First sighting was the house know as the "Mountain House (external link)" which when view from the east, resembles a mountain side, as the slope of it will disguise the levels of it, and only the grass on the roofs of the levels will be visible mimicking a mountain side.

Another well known architecture in that part of the city, is Bella Sky (external link) it is a conference hotel, and has been very disputable, as one of it's top floors is restricted to women only.

One of the dorms that are located in the area (Grønjordskollegiet (external link)), is known for the suicide rate among its inhibitants, mostly this is due to the design of the windows in the dorm rooms, they are a foot from floor level and reaches the ceiling which makes it very easy to step right out into the open air and see if it is possible to miss hitting the ground.

IMAGE: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5446/8793943655_50df8b8efe_b.jpg

One of the most maligned designs in the area, is the main ressidence of the Danish tv network (external link), over it's 8 years of building, the budget ended with a massive $300 million extra cost from it's orriginal price of $500 million.

Sorry for the crappy photo, theres was a lot of reflection from the metro window.

In the end, the ride ended in Nyhavn (external link), I know I've shown this photo on my last hosting of nifty, but this time there were marginaly more people.

IMAGE: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5442/8794498841_b540c034b0_b.jpg

Now you might be wondering why I didn't step off the metro and went to teh different sightings for a more ideal spot to shoot from, it was due to having my nephew and niece staying for the weekend, ever since they lost their mother 3 month ago it has been hard on them, and they needed some happiness in their day.

These were the two speciel individuals this trip was ment for, not for the sake of nifty.

Your explanation of why you didn't step off the metro and the last photograph of the children made me sad. For those children to loose their mother at such a young age when they need a mother so much, is terrible. You are sweet to take them out like this. And of course Nifty takes second, third and 100th place after that!!

I love the set. Very interesting buildings you have in your city. The Mountain House is amazing. Very creative architecture. And I would love to visit the Women Only floor at the Bella Sky!!

More lovely photos from Denmark!
You've got some interesting structures there Kenneth.. I like them ;)
I really like the canal/waterfront shot. Lovely old buildings and yes, lots of activity.

What a sad ending story to the series..
Sending all good thought and wishes to you and your family and especially to your niece and nephew in this very difficult time. So very difficult for 2 so young..

I just realized that my pics don't show anymore as I am in the process of moving house from flickr to ipernity. The images are all still on flickr but I made them private. However, they should still show here (and in fact some do). I have made a few public again to see if that would make them visible again, but nope, they won't show either. Maybe it's one of the many bugs of the new flickr or maybe I'm being punished for speaking out in the forum, I do not know.
If the pics stay like this I will put in new links from my new home but that will take a bit of time. Luckily the links to the pics still work, so I can see exactly which image goes where.

I hate Yahoo on so many levels right now, you have no idea...
