I am going to be a little bit naughty here and please if all feel this is not appropriate or off topic please feel free to remove. I did however feel it is worth showing and in the "spirit" of the story's that get shared here.

I had to take a quick trip to Karratha & Dampier http://www.australiasnorthwest.com/Destinations/The_Pilbara (external link) yesterday to sort out a work issue. I unfortunately did not have the nifty with me:mad: I did however get the opportunity to photograph (albeit with an Iphone) the memorial to "Red Dog" http://reddogwa.com/the_red_dog_story (external link).

This area of Western Australia is where all of the countries iron ore and natural gas is mined and exported from. Red Dog was a red kelpie cross that was famous in the region from 1971 to 1979 for hitching rides and traveling through the north west. travels and story have become legend.

His travels and story have also been made into a very successful movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTExiWzvJlo (external link)

Love the graffiti shots in the Lockhouse. It would make for a fantastic backdrop for Senior Portraits. :)

Great shots, Del. The Tea House is lovely! Is the last shot a HDR?

They are called zetters, because their license plate numbers all start with the letter Z.

Love your shots. Makes me want to go back. Thanks for sharing.

I'm thinking the cabs are actually called Zedders based on your explanation. Us UK English people call the letter Z Zed.

Anyway, we never got in them because we had too many people to fit. We called those the "Reggae Cabs" as they all had Bob Marley blasting in them. We did ride in the Blue bus which is like their top line one. We had a woman with a box of chickens with her. :) We rode the Yellow Bus back from Crane Beach, that was fun. Major exhaust fumes, packed to the nuts in stifling heat and some guy playing Barry White on his iPod. It was kind of surreal. :)

Being a sailor and having a few of their red hats, no trip to Barbados could happen without a trip to the Mount Gay Rum distillery. This is just the outside as we passed by on our trip around the island by cab.

We took a short stop at a place called "The Hot Pot". There's a culvert that empties the cooling water used in their electricity generation plant. The water's warmer than normal and incredibly clear. The locals hang out here, play dominos and lounge around.
