Where's Nifty?! #2

I found photorider on Facebook and sent him a pm last Thursday, asking if he knew where nifty might be.

A very quiet fellow, that one.

I didn't got the chance to use it as I intended because of my move to Sony recently, the Nifty won't auto focus with the Canon adaptor for some reason, and as you know, it's a PITA to focus the Nifty manually, so on my trip it didn't got used as the trip lens as I expected, but I do have a few shots and will post soon

Just a heads up, I shipped it out to itw last week. Should have gotten there Friday. I apologize for not contributing this time around, work had me travelling a whole lot and I wasn't home often at all.

At present we would like anyone wishing to host have at least a 200 post count or have been active on POTN for a year. Hopefully this will reduce the number of people that do not participate in a timely manner, or "forget" to move Nifty on to the next host, or simply don't care.

* Though, this doesn't seem to alter the fact that people tend to forget to send Nifty on and tend to post very little... with some exceptions!

Hey Kurt, I don't know if we've had this conversation but I'm originally from the Dundee area.

I don't think we have.

Nice to see somebody that is at least a bit familiar with the far west burbs of Chicago.

I grew up in Hillside and then moved out to South Elgin after I got married to a girl that grew up in Elgin.

After reminiscing through my last possession of Nifty I realized that I did quite a bit with it in the 3 months (February 2014 - May 2014) that I had it. I thought I had it longer than that but that move seemed like it took forever. I was feeling bad that I had it for a long time and hardly did anything with it. But really, 3 months isn't a long time and I did take it from Chicago to Atlanta so it was well traveled (about 850 miles).

I have a couple of ideas for new places I'd like to take Nifty to. This last time I took it to the old car city and I think I might try the airplane junk yard when I get it again. I heard it's a cool place to take photos at but I'll have to call them and ask permission as it's not a museum like the car city was It's just like a junk yard. There are some other places I'll bring it to that I haven't shot with it yet as well.

Can't wait!

I lived in Carpentersville for most of my life. I've lived in Georgia for about 10 years now. I did an 11 month stint up in Illinois back in 2013-2014. The cold winter made me change my mind about moving back up there. That was a brutally COLD winter that year!

Seems to me some Nifties should have landed

Nullmind pm'd me that he would send Nifty to me "next week". But that was two weeks ago (October 21) and I haven't received anything yet.

How about everyone posts when they send it with the tracking number. Then everyone also posts when they receive it. Doesn't have to be a photo. Just to help us keep track of it.

I like the tracking number idea. It would help in keeping track of these a little better.
