Thanks Joayne. The good thing about this is that if you don't get the shot that you want, there
is always a chance the next night.
The tent like structures are Canada Place convention centre. It was built for the world's fair
that was in 86.

Those "tents" have held up nicely! :p

They are actually supposed to be sails. They are a teflon coated fibreglass and they
were replaced about 5 years ago.

One of my favourite neon signs here.

Have sent a pm to the member I thought was next on the list but he hasn't been online. Where is the list for sending Nifty on?

At present we would like anyone wishing to host have at least a 200 post count or have been active on POTN for a year. Hopefully this will reduce the number of people that do not participate in a timely manner, or "forget" to move Nifty on to the next host, or simply don't care.

* Though, this doesn't seem to alter the fact that people tend to forget to send Nifty on and tend to post very little... with some exceptions! To sign up to be a host, please copy the list completely, add your name to the bottom of the sub-list that is in your area of the world, paste the entire list into a new post with your name added.

Your first one was shot with a 18-55 not the Nifty. :) Don't worry, I've done the same thing. You can't just carry one lens with you all the time and it gets confusing especially if you're switching lenses.

Love those carousel shots, Kevin. Brings back memories of my childhood, all too long ago... :-)

Thank you Levina and Joayne.

Yes....they do have music. it is supplied by a
1925 146B Wurlitzer Military band organ and
it makes beautiful music.

Good news. After 7 months of working behind the scenes to get mr. NullMind to send Nifty to me, it is now sitting in my livingroom. Since last October he promised to send Nifty to me "this week" and then didn't. He promised me countless time to send it to me "next week" and never did. It took naming and shaming in the real world for him to finally give it up. One of the most untrustworthy guys I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with.

But that is all in the past now as Nifty is finally here. It arrived yesterday at the end of the afternoon. It was a rainy, rather dark day with grey skies, but I took a stroll with Nifty in my neighbourhood, just because I could! So nothing fancy, just some snaps in bad light and IQ is pretty bad. It all looks kinda muddy. :-)

I am attaching all my Nifty shots this time because I tend to switch image hosting sites sometimes and then all the links are gone. Can't have that again!

If you doubted if Nifty is in Amsterdam, just count the bicycles! :p

Speaking of the park, here's one of the entrances.
Everything is so green right now.
I blended two shots for this.

Here's another and the one I usually take. A pano of 6 shots I think it was.

Thanks very much, Mark. I'm really happy myself too. After all my attempts and no lens I thought it was lost to us for sure!

Part of the bicycle path that runs across the west side of the park is at a lower level than the road that runs next to that. I just loved how in all that green a girl in a bright red coat happened to come by.
