Inside the Old Red Museum...hyperlinks were posted in my previous posts :)
When I walked in there was that lovely silver cup from my precious post and then dead smack in the middle was this red Pegasus (external link).
Little did I know that there was this creature in Dallas well before we even moved to Dallas. I created a painting called "Pegasus Has Landed (external link)" in response to some nasty people's comments in a German art forum

Another free exhibit!
And a lovely staircase which I will have to post in the next set, as I don't have a Flickr account to attach several images :)

So , here is the very bottom of a very elaborate and quite lovely staircase. I didn't have a flash with me and the interior was rather dark, so I had to crank up the ISO and my images may not be perfect :)

I'm not sure if I got Nifty to get vertigo but here is the very top of the staircase. I know for certain that my neck was getting sore :)
What's on each level? I don't know. But here is a link for the curios and inquisitive minds to explore http://www.oldred.org/ (external link)

As I was on my way out, I saw this lovely door in one of the wings of the building. Again, the harsh light kind of killed it and I didn't shoot bracketed, so here it is with blown highlights and all :)

I was done with this lovely building that was supposed be torn down at some stage and I'm glad it wasn't. Somewhere in my previous post there are links to this museum and they talk about it. I think it's quite iconic to Dallas and I'm glad it's still standing there. The legacy of the past: bad or good :)
Just before I left, I visited a little store, as most museums in the US have...it's all about making money, right? Her is the Pegasus in the little store...sorry but it's the greatest kitsch item I have ever seen, my friends. If I offended you or your senses, please forgive me. It wasn't my intention. I'm just overly sensitive to such stuff... :p Genuine plastic! :)
As I was about to step out the door craving for some heat...just kidding...this was the view outside the front door :)

As I walked outside there was another landmark, the Goerge B. Dealey Statue (external link) Notice the Reunion tower in the background. The entire complex which is hard to explain is called Dealey Plaza (external link)

I'm tired and I'm just going to leave a few shots with some description for you to ponder upon.

Book Depository in Houston Street and Elm Street, where the shots were fired...

see two little plaques between the street lights in the bottom shot? That's where the cross from the previous posts in the street...
I replaced my original shot which I mistakenly uploaded but didn't realize it was a wide angle one. Here is poor stitch of 4 images :)

That is a great tour Renata. Love the shots and the stories to go with them.
The longhorn statues are really something.
