US Nifty here just to let you know that I haven't forgotten you or Nifty; it's been a very busy time for me with Christmas approaching and working overtime.
I have 7 commission paintings to finish before Christmas, no small jobs. All rather monster size, photo realistic and another job in Corpus Christi coming up, so please bear with me. I will post some stuff soon.
We have quite a few trips scheduled this weekend and the following one. I just feel overwhelmed with the amount of work right now :)

Don't worry, we understand. I have the other US NIfty and have been too busy/sick to do much lately.

Also, Michigan weather right now isn't the greatest for being outside. 30+ mph winds, no snow, and just ugly landscape right now. Snow is coming though and things should get interesting!

Thanks, Blake. Sorry to hear that you were sick; get better soon :)

Looking forward to some snow shots!

Feel better Blake.
As for ugly landscape, SoCal is on fire again...
60 mph winds and flames spread fast.

I'm pretty much better now. Just at the end of it. My traditional yearly annoying sinus cold where my nose runs like a faucet 24/7 for several days, followed up by a sore throat for a week. I'll take it though. It doesn't make me bed ridden or anything. But it's annoying enough that I don't go outside or really go anywhere for a couple weeks. Only had the flu once in my life (the one year I got the flu shot!). And this will be the only time I get "sick" every year.

Cali has had a rough time lately! Makes for some pretty crazy photos though!

Sorry to see that on the news. It hits home harder now. :-(

Yes it does...we're overrun by disaster tourism photographers from other areas who are giving photographers a bad name.

80 mph winds predicted for tomorrow. This is terrifying .. We have fires every year around this time, but people are more than ever building in areas that are prone to fires, so more and more people are affected.

"Firefighters are expecting 80-mph gusts on Thursday. Cal Fire is urging people along a 300-mile stretch of land north of the Mexican border to pack emergency kits in case the fire spreads even more."

"The Los Angeles Fire Department is ordering a mandatory evacuation for anyone South of Mulholland Dr, East of the 405 Freeway, West of Roscomare Road and North of Sunset Boulevard."

Wow, joayne, I hope you are safe and sound and not in that 300 mile zone.
It's really terrifying!
Keeping my fingers crossed for all in Socal.

I'm about 100 miles from the border, but in the desert and there is no wind here today.
I am linking an explanation regarding the Santa Ana Winds and the Venturi Effect
I live where the map is marked Desert...

Yikes!!! Be careful out there every one with US nifties. Wait for the weather to tame down before you head out shooting. Think of yourselves first and foremost.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!
