I'm about 100 miles from the border, but in the desert and there is no wind here today.

US Nifty was able to carve out some time from my very busy schedule and was dragged with me to Addison, TX again, to Vitruvian Park to be precise.
We wanted to see the lights that are on display every year. Quite a sight but it' s so crowded!

I didn't have a tripod with me , so the shots are not particularly crisp as I was shooting at a low speed. Most of the time there was some kind of support for my camera, such as a concrete wall but not always. Some shots were totally hand held and I had no otehr choice but to crank up the ISO, which yielded noisy shots.
Anyway, here are some.
The first thing we saw was an amphitheater with a band playing The Beatles...fun stuff...I was singing along on that rather cold night

The park has a number of little islands and peninsulas, a few bridges and trees everywhere with millions of LED lights...quite a spectacle!

Fire update.. most all the fires around the southern most part of the state are under control. Fires seem to be spontaneously combusting everywhere.
I'm sure the arsonists are quite excited and perhaps are helping things along

More gusty winds and 3% humidity are expected today through Tuesday. Terrible news for the Ventura/Santa Barbara area...

US Nifty again with just a few pictures from a local attraction called Santa's Village. The best images will come later when I go there in the evening to shoot the lights.
The weather was exceptionally warm the other day: 76°F or 25°C in the middle of December and a couple of days before we had a night frost that killed my soft stemmed flowers in the garden!
