It's had some slow points in the past. Hopefully it will pick up again.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Well, it's picking up again ;-)a
It's been a very busy time for me as you all can imagine. I also went down with a virus of a strange kind and right now I'm stuck in the kitchen baking goodies for Christmas :)
Tomorrow I'll be off to Corpus Christi where I hope to get some shots taken.
So, Nifty was salivating in the kitchen and a couple of nights ago in a Japanese restaurant it was licking my sushi...nasty little thing...
First it almost got covered with flour while I was making 6 egg noodles for my sick kiddo (he had a runny nose and dying)! They went into a home made chicken soup which we didn't shoot!
Today I was making panforte di Sienna...a traditional Italian cake...killer stuff :)

A few nights ago while I was under the weather, my friend dragged me to a Japanese restaurant which serves the best sushi ever. We did eat at the table and managed to forget to shoot my sushi :)
But, I shot some other dishes instead...all delicious but the picture are bad...no flash.

The Dupan Nifty is no more (as there were no more hosts).
The Canadian Nifty is with Photorider and the EU Nifty is with Bambersimages and neither can send it on as there are no more hosts for them. Both have been good hosts but you can't expect them to keep filling this thread with images indefinitely.

So, the only Nifties that have some place to go are the US Nifties. Renata is doing her good thing, as always. BlakeC has the other Nifty, I think. He posts every once in a while. The US list is also getting awfully short.

Maybe the Nifty project has run its course and is coming to an end?

I so have some more photos to post, but have been quite busy with other things.
Haven't forgotten!

Here's a fun composite I created. The leaning tower of Pisa was taken with the Euro Nifty.
The picture of Aaron Nace is one of a set he has released for a competition.
The snowflake is one taken by Don Komarechka who released this one for anyone's use and I made a brush with it.
He makes stunning photos of snowflakes and posts one a day for 100 days.

I love making fresh pasta. So simple and VERY tasty! It's the bast! Looks like you have an electric pasta cutter? I have a hand crank one. Would love to get an electric one though.

Thanks.
There's nothing better than fresh pasta! I have an attachment...well 3 of them...that go onto my KitchenAid; one rolls it out, the other 2 cut it into linguini and spaghetti.
I imagine that there are some electric ones that don't require a stand mixer like mine does.

I'm hoping to have final confirmation within a few weeks of getting a visa and job in Nova Scotia, if so I will probably sign up to host the Canada Nifty :)

Did our traditional "Go over to our friends' house and help decorate." We do not have kids btw. They have 3 kids and 2 dogs. So I brought Nifty and got a few shots.

It's almost the anniversary of the Nifty thread. The thread was started on December 21, 2005. It has been running for 12 years!!
If you ask me that is quite a long run. I am sad to see it run its course in Canada and Australia and New Zealand and the Asian area (all grouped as Dupan).
I don't think POTN has the interest it once had..

The Canadian Nifty was donated by Adorama and Helen Oster, made that happen! By calling her name three times, we can usually get her attention.
So THANK YOU again Helen!

(Helen Oster, Helen Oster, Helen Oster)

The Dupan was donated and is still with the donor (I believe). Actually here is the "official info"

"DUPAN Nifty: Another Nifty passed on to the big camera in the sky. Replacement EF50 1.8 STM donated by Progear.co.nz Standard versions no longer available in New Zealand. Bk2Life was the last host. He had no one to send it to and took it with him to the USA."

The Euro was donated by me and sent to Wales originally. I sent one and it didn't make it through customs, so I sent a second and it did make it. The first one eventually came back to me and I still have it.

The US Nifties.. the first was donated by Carzee and was ruined by Canadian customs. A second was put in play and it disappeared (stolen). A third was put in play and was "disappeared". A fourth was put in play and I had to replace that one as it got worn out. I put a fifth in play. It's still going. The STM was donated and is still in play. ...And I've been here since the beginning

That's Nifty in a nut shell, because there are really so many stories... 12 years worth.
