Inspired by Levina's recent posts, I dragged retired nifty along on a errand to a nearby winery that is known for its lavender garden. It was the wrong time of day, and there's a smoke in the air from a 7,000 acre fire wildfire burning north of us.

Enjoyed your photos Levina.ߘ

I'm so glad you did, Terry. Thank you very much!

Tim, those purple fields are simply lovely. I think you live in a beautiful area.

It was just a spur of the moment thing. I need to do it again around sunrise.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Thanks TIm..
What are those red plants? Really strange looking..

We just finished up our Lavender Festival at the beginning of June.
There is a really big farm near me. I've gone in the past, but not this year.

Stay safe.. That fire looks like it could bad.

I have a no idea what those red plants are. I've been looking through my plant guides and can't find anything. I sent the photo to the plant lady at UC Davis. Hopefully she will respond.

The fire burned another 1,000 acres last night, but humidity is high, winds are down and to the east, and it's 35 miles north of us. Other than some smoke, we're fine.

The weather guessers here are predicting hot weather, winds and low humidity for Friday through Sunday. I hope they're wrong.

We're okay. So far the wind has been pushing it away from us and it's a fair distance north of us.

You're welcome, Tim. I have an app called PlantSnap which helped; had to do a screenshot of the plant you posted and voilà.

Glad the wind has been doing the job for you.

According to the tracking number, STM Nifty was delivered on Monday the 25th. Hopefully it will get some use. Again, apologies for dropping the ball on this. It was never my intention. I was looking forward to one more time with Nifty but life just got in the way.

Joayne, I can send you the tracking number if you'd like.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Hey guys! Nifty did get here last week, but I wasn't able to pick it up until Wednesday. I was out of town over the weekend, so I didn't have too much opportunity to shoot with nifty, but I did get a couple pics from my mom's garden.

Unfortunately, it's going to be oppressively hot here this week, so I don't think I'll make it over to campus to shoot, but I'm hoping I can over the weekend.
