Where's Nifty?! #2

Hey guys! Nifty did get here last week, but I wasn't able to pick it up until Wednesday. I was out of town over the weekend, so I didn't have too much opportunity to shoot with nifty, but I did get a couple pics from my mom's garden.

Unfortunately, it's going to be oppressively hot here this week, so I don't think I'll make it over to campus to shoot, but I'm hoping I can over the weekend.

Not sure I understand why you have to go "to campus to shoot" though. Can't you just shoot where you are now?

Happy rainy 4th of July

Looks just like our weather this morning, a solid marine layer of clouds moved in and even though it's noon, it has not burned off yet. I hope we are able to see the fireworks tonight.

EDIT: Great fireworks here last night! The best I've seen in years. The fog moved in about 30 minutes after the fireworks were over.

Nifty dump incoming!

Such a nice day today, mid 70s, not a cloud in the sky, perfect weather for a walk. Headed over to campus and brought Nifty along with me.

There's a nice trail behind my apartment that goes all over State College. It also goes right along the golf course.

On the north side of campus, there's the Stukeman family building with its interesting architecture. Penn State seems to have a thing for curvy buildings. This is one of 3 or so around campus. A short walk later and we're at the Library. Looks like it could use a good power washing.

On the other side of the Library is the Pattee Mall. Nice strip of old elm trees down the middle. Then looking back at the Library from a little further down.

In front of the Electrical Engineering East building is the Obelisk.

Down at the south end of campus now in the shade of one of the many lovely trees. Looking out of the gates towards downtown State College. On the corner of Allen St and College Ave is the Allen Street Grill and the Corner Room. It's been a staple of State College since the 1920's.

Walking back across campus now we get to Old Main. It's the main administration building for Penn State. A little further east is the Hetzel Union Building, or the HUB as it's more widely known as. A lot of good places to eat for students in the HUB, as well as the nice large HUB lawn for soaking up the sun.

Next up is the Millennium Science Complex. One of the newer buildings on campus. There's a nice little garden and sitting area under the corner of the building.

No trip to Penn State would be complete without stopping at the Berkey Creamery. If you ever find yourself in State College, be sure to stop and get some of the best ice cream you'll ever have. All made right on campus, it's definitely the best ice cream I've enjoyed. There's also an art museum on campus, the Palmer Museum of Art. I've never been inside, but they host a lot of events on campus for the school of arts.

Just some more of the lovely trees and shade on the northeast side of campus. And of course, the famous Nittany Lion statue.
