Some wall art inside the Granville. I apologize for not taking shots of the labels.

My apology for the losy quality of the interior shots. I didn't have a flash with me and didn't even expect to shoot inside.
This sculpture "Vision of the Arts" is outside the center and was created by Barvo. Here is a link to an article https://www.dallasnews.com …ntown-garland-renaissance (external link)
A detail of the bronze sculpture.

A plaque by the sculpture and another one that I missed from the square.

More images and stories tomorrow :)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hannukah or whatever you celebrate.
Nifty has been sitting quietly while I have been insanely busy with all sort of activities related to the holiday season and not feeling well...the weather here goes from late summer to winter in one day or less.
Anyway, here is the last batch of the Garland trip.
A 10 image panorama of a street view in downtown Garland across from the library.
The second image is a 4 shot panorama of the library building. You can see a section of a yellow building on the far right which is called the Garland Landmark Museum...unfortunately close while I was visiting.
i'll go back one day to shoot inside; it's only opened on Saturdays.

A 6 image panorama of the library's interior, just a small section depicting the children's book corner with a lovely mural and the ceiling to the right of the children's section.

I moved up North towards the Garland Landmark Museum (external link) and shot the building in 3 sections and merged into a panorama. The old building used to be a part of the SANTA FE RAILROAD DEPOT (external link)
An official plaque by the entrance to the Museum.

To the left I saw a train car or railway carriage that used to be a part of one of the old trains.
Here is a link to the history of that railway line https://en.wikipedia.org …rado_and_Santa_Fe_Railway (external link)
Farther to to the left you see the white Tinsley-Lyles House (external link)
Another article about it here https://www.garlandtx.gov …g/tinsley_lyles_house.asp (external link) and more here https://thegarlandtexan.com …ation-fundraising-begins/ (external link)

Right between the railway wagon and the Tinsley-Lyles House is a sign of a new development called Heritage Crossing.
Right behind me a doggy park.

On the way back I saw these steel sculptures. No word about the design.

Apart from the recent visit to Garland, Nifty had to shoot some stuff at home while I was getting ready to celebrate, so I dragged the poor lens into my kitchen...no mercy whatsoever.
Nifty got a little starburst filter on to show the pretty lights on my tree and then I took it off

Baking took a long time: these are the delicious N├╝rnberger Elisenlebkuchen (external link) which I love and have been baking them for 4 decades.
Apart from these morsels, I cooked some Chinese sweet won-tons because this year's Christmas Eve was very Chinese and my kiddo begged for this insanely time-consuming but delicious authentic crispy skin chicken dish. Every year our Christmas dinner consists of various ethnic dishes.

Savory won-tons filled with pork, spinach, cilantro (coriander green) and garlic, dipped in soy sauce,
Crispy skin chicken is served with smoked Szetchuan pepper and salt, all made from scratch.
