And that is a wrap for the Spring banding of 2019! Meredith and her crew also do a Fall migration banding at Barr Lake State Park. Barr Lake is a well-known birding hotspot and we hope to see her this fall.

As always, thanks for looking! If there are any of you out there thinking about hosting US Nifty in the near future, please sign up! It is so much fun to do this, and hosting really gives you an excuse to get out and about. :-)

Beautiful series, Lesley!
Real joy to see the process :)

Hi all. Nifty has been quarantined for a bit. Hubby has had the flu all weekend with a fever, cough, and killer sore throat. :-( I'm doing my best not to catch what he has!

I'm not sure when I'll get to take Nifty on his next adventure. Let me know if I need to move him on.

Hope your hubby is doing better and you haven't been affected by the flu. Speedy recovery!
Take care of yourself, Lesley!

Thanks, Renata. He's starting to feel much better, and so far I'm feeling fine. I really don't want to get what he had, he said it's the sickest he's ever been that he can remember.

Dusted retired Nifty off and took some shots in the garden this afternoon.

The Gravenstein apples are doing well. We will have plenty of apples for pies and applesauce this fall.

The wet winter has coated my windmill with a nice coat of rust. The spiders must enjoy the spinning.

A new bird house my son built me for Father's Day. I haven't quite figured out where I want to put it yet, but all of the potential locations involve a smooth tall pole that the squirrels cannot climb.

This has been a crazy Spring with more dandelions than I can ever remember seeing. Our French Plum tree doesn't have a single bit of fruit on it this year.

The green bean vines are just now climbing the trellis. Last year at this time the trellis was completely covered.

Apparently the heat in the garden was too much for old retired Nifty. He kept missing focus, so I brought him inside so he could take a nap where it is cooler. :p

Nice shots, Tim. But the lack of fruit on your plum tree is unusual unless they bare fruit every other year.

It's an annual fruit bearing tree. I suspect bad weather killed the blossoms this Spring.

I think that spider is either an artist, or a bit dizzy...
And of course, love that bird house Tim.

Good to see the old Retired Nifty, still has some life.. in your capable hands at least!

Thanks Joayne.

Retired Nifty's auto focus is a bit twitchy at times, but manual focus still works.

Retired Nifty does complain a lot about getting stuck in some old folks home and being ignored.

Hi from Nifty in Colorado. I ended up getting sick after my husband did, although not quite as severe as his. We are still trying to recover, this crud is hanging on for dear life. We are much better but don’t have a lot of energy for Nifty adventures yet. Please be patient, we still have a few things in mind. :-)
