I sat outside with my son for a couple of hours this past Saturday. We just stat as still as we could in some chairs behind the tripod. We were about 60 feet or so from the birds in these photos.

I agree with Pete, I would place a long branch just above the feeder (2 feet or so) which would give you a natural looking perch to shoot at. Get closer (I put a chair in front of me to partly hide my form about 20 feet away) and sit very still, with the camera already pointed at the branch. Then just shoot away. Dennis
