Recently I was able to attend a Canon sponsored macro workshop. This was the first time I've tried anything macro. Canon supplied the gear. This was taken with their 5D and the MP-E 65 lens. I really had no clue what I was doing, but I love how it shows the texture of the flower.

Very nice. Lovely color :) I think the 5d and the MP-E65 would be a perfect combo. You get higher resolution and enough magnification at the same time ;) I would have kept my 5D if I knew I would bought the MP-E65. :(

5D would make more sense with this lens than with other macro lenses as you are more likely to be filling the frame with the subject and less likely to be doing any heavy cropping.

Exactly! I'm thinking of trading my 30D for a 5D now.

The pic is great :D The dirty sensor really ruins the pic :( I edited the pic, if you don't mind.

Here it is: I removed the dust spots, played with the levels and removed noise.

Nice shot, exposed it perfectly if you ask me. Omri's work on curves/levels looks good as well. I think Omri uses Neat Image, which I'd also recommend (they have a downloadable free version which pretty much does everything you'd need - www.neatimage.com (external link) from memory).

Wow! I like the edit very much. The application that you used, is it stickly a plug-in for Photoshop? Or, will it work with Elements? Is it possible to see the entire pictures that you cleaned up?

Thanks again....
