I have loaded RSP onto a new machine and entered the key and all, but it does not recognize any RAW images.

I know it is likely some simple thing, but a simple thing is how I feel as I can't figure it out.

Any ideas?

I have now tried rebooting my PC, reloading the program and even threw in a couple of bad words. Still nothing.

I found I can open the directory a RAW file is in in My Documents, right click and 'Open With' RSP and it works fine, I just can't access them through the RSP directory.

Very confused.???

Have you tried the pixmantec forums? They're pretty good at answering queries there.

I did post the same thing there.

As well, last night I sent an email to pixmantec with the issue. I was just hoping one of the photo guru's here would have a quick solution.

Hopefully I will hear from someone there today, I had been putting off processing pictures for quite a while, now I have to get a bunch done before Friday. I don't think I have even used it since I set up this new computer a month ago.

You must have some setup issue. I've been successfully using RSP to open my 20D RAW files since November/December when RSP became available, all without having to resort to Right Click 'Open with'.

Me too. I have been using RSP since it came out with great success, it is since I loaded it on this new computer that it won't work. I even tried reloading it, maybe I should remove it completely and try reloding it. I still have not heard anything back from pixmantec.

Does your new computer have a different operating system than the old computer? Maybe there is a glitch caused at the O/S level

Just a thought - make sure you are on the "All" tab.

Both PC's were using XP Pro.

I am using the 'All' tab. I am attaching the error message that shows when I click on a folder that definitely contains CR2 files. I even tried opening a RAW file right from the card reader fresh outta my camera with the same results.

Good call, I downloaded and installed RSE as I had not set it up on this PC yet and it works fine.

Now I just need to figure out why RSP will not do the same.

Is there any chance that some file in FSP became corrupted and does not get permanently deleted when I used the 'Add/remove' tool? Maybe somehow I need to purge all traces of RSP before I reload it.

This whole ordeal is more proof that the more I learn the less I seem to know.:D

I had a similar problem with PSE3 a while ago when it kept locking up. I ended up finding out about an obscure ref file that gets corrupted but doesn't get deleted when you uninstall. Try an explorer search for all RSP-type files. Have you cleaned your registry? What version/build of RSP do you have?
